TESTIMONIALS

“I have grown in many ways as a result of my Tara dance experience. Thank you for your generosity & awakening me to people as companions on my path.”

Shash Broxson – Photographer, New Paltz, N.Y.

“This was fantastic, healing, nourishing, enlightening, & joyful.”

“Excellent!!! Effortless, joyous, nurturing practice, prayer and a great service to the world.”

“Thank you for allowing me to watch your beautiful dancing. The movement is like a river, the emergence of each woman like a flower blooming, the rhythm like a heartbeat. But it isn’t all soft and mushy, the women expressed much verve and mystery and mischieviousness. It was wonderful to see the Dalai Lama drawn to it and bring his energy to the whole celebration.”
Johanna Demetrakas – Videographer, L.A. Calif.

“Thank you for your presentation. As the organizer of the Tara event in our community, I am still hearing how you touched many hearts. Thank you also for sharing your wisdom and the profound teachings on the path of Tara. Dancing twice with you and participating in the meditation has opened many levels of Spirituality I never imagined. I admire the courage and faith it takes to hear and present a ” different drummer.” Knowing you has helped me acknowledge and accept my power.”
Lisa Henry, Prescott, Arizona

“I want to tell you that after spending the weekend with you & the Tara dancers, I was profoundly changed. I was really blissed out for about 3 days! Everything I normally do in my life felt extremely easy & I felt really connected to everyone & everything. I try to cultivate that feeling now in my practice.”
Heather Burkhardt, Pt. Arena, Calif.

“Often I call on the gifts you shared with us that weekend – I am forever grateful for what you have awakened in my spirit.”
Heleen Ellmore, Annapolis, MD

“This is the 6th time I have done this dance prayer with Prema & each time it is a blessing. Her teachings deepen & become richer; community & spirit are alive & healing. The presence of “Tara” is definitely felt. I highly recommend it.”
Bonney Meyer – Sacred Dance Teacher, Berkeley, Calif.

“It was a life transforming, uplifting and profoundly enriching experience. The teacher was authentic, sincere, engaging & inspiring. I hope to have the opportunity to learn more from her.”

“Too cool for school. I had a terrific time. Movement as a means of meditation and the study of qualities was very effective.”

“Prema’s love, compassion, and enthusiasm touched my heart more than I can express. The sacredness of the dance and the communion with goddess sisters will be with me for a long time.”

“This weekend has been very healing and powerful for me. Through the acceptance of Tara in my life, I have finally found the unconditional love of the Mother. I can now let go of the past and accept myself and those around me with compassion and love. I have started letting go of being so hard on myself, and I am finding my center of peace.” Marianne, Berkeley, Calif.

“I feel that the heavy weight of fears & anxiety have gone. I am in my body, but without the weight of those fears. I am lightly energized. It’s as if a higher, spiritual energy has come to clear and heal me.”
Ana Extasie, Berkeley, Calif.

“I love to be with all these beautiful women. I always thought I had a problem with women (some women), but not with Tara women. I love every on of them! I love this experience and everything that comes with it. But most of all I love the praise of Tara in every aspect of this workshop. Tara helped me to finally end a struggle of a part within myself, to let go and make peace!”
Christel LaSando, Berkeley, Calif.

“The Tara Dance has awakened the sacred feminine within me. It amazes me how a group of such diverse women can come together with intention and create an exquisite design.”

“Weekend Workshop”
June 10th – June 12th 2016
Newbold House Findhorn SCOTLAND.

with Prema Dasara of Hawaii and
Myri Tara Naves of Brazil.

Within each one of us the magnificence of wisdom dances, radiating the light of loving compassion.

We long to open ourselves fully, to manifest this wondrous potential. When we let go of our inner tightness we  enter an experience of total bliss and move forward, empowered and inspired.

Dance Tara with Prema Dasara, visiting Findhorn for only one week in June to share with the community the profound method she has developed of experiencing awakened freedom with the dancing body.

Combining Tibetan mind training techniques with simple movements based in Indian Temple dance, she shares the mudras and rhythms that support our journey to awakened mind and heart.

Prema has lead groups all over the world, celebrating the divine feminine, offering the dance as a form of citizen diplomacy, a way for diverse individuals to meet, and enjoy each other’s preciousness. In the circle of the dance we invoke the powerful presence and guidance of Mother Tara, the divine expression of enlightened mind.

“Light absorbs light – and more Light until you become a being of Light, free from all earthly ties, living and moving and having your being in the Spirit, living in that new dimension where there are no barriers, where all is freedom.” Eileen Caddy

Realm of the Enlightened Feminine

Friday night 7.30 – 9.30 PM – Intro to Dancing the Divine Feminine

Waking up the body mind, we orient our human journey towards realization and the light within. We explore the qualities of our awakened feminine nature, exploring the power of mantra and mudra combined with mindful movement and meditation.

Saturday morning – Dancing White Tara – Protection and Healing

We enter the protective realm of White Tara, who is known for her blessing of long life and good health. We examine our inner commitment to awakening, letting go of whatever holds us back, our guilt and our fears, our confusion and doubt, we dance into the rainbow light.

Saturday afternoon – Medicine Buddha

A deep experience of inner peace, the dance of Medicine Buddha helps us to cleanse our body mind of self obsession and enter into the brilliance of compassionate action.

Saturday evening – Tara Tames the 8 Fears

This dance drama was originally written for children, though there is nothing childish about the activity of examining our inner fears. Prema shares her experience in working with the grasping mind, keeping the atmosphere light even though the evening is focused on profound practice.

Sunday Morning – Gold Tara

Invoking the Golden Goddess of Plenty, we generate abundance, increasing our wisdom, wealth, energy, compassion and skill, celebrating the gifts of our lives.

Sunday Afternoon – Tara and the Tarot

These playful dances incorporate Brazilian Rhythms with the ancient wisdom of Tara and the Tarot. In the Tibetan tradition, the Goddess Tara has 21 emanations. Prema has discovered that they have a strong relationship to the western mystery schools embodied in the major arcana of the Tarot.

Prema is the Spiritual and Creative director of Tara Dhatu (http://www.taradhatu.net) – an organization dedicated to uplifting humanity through the sacred arts. She is deeply committed to opening the door to the magnificent view of the preciousness of our human potential. She calls all to realize the wisdom and compassion dancing within their own hearts. With her personal experience of many spiritual paths, she shares her insights with exceptional clarity and lightheartedness.

Tara Dancing at the Theosophical Convention

Realm of the Enlightened Feminine

Tara Dancing at the Theosophical Convention

Marlene Butler, one of our Tara Dhatu facilitators in Napier, New Zealand, was invited to share Tara and the dance at the 118th National Summer Convention of the New Zealand Theosophical Society on January 11th 2015. The theme was “The Way Forward for Humanity: Achieving Universal Brother/Sisterhood.” Held at the Napier Girls High School, attendance was from all over New Zealand, Australia and as far away as the Philippines.

Marlene writes…

I have been presenting Tara’s dance and Tibetan bowl guided meditations at the Theosophical Society from the end of 2013 through 2014.  Chris Hensley, the President of the Napier chapter of the New Zealand TS, asked if I would like to present a Tara Dance meditation and talk at the convention.

There were sixty five men and women who joined me for the session. It was magical. All were very present and willing to join in the dancing. We were mainly a group of middle aged folk with a very mature young woman of 90, Tania, who was incredibly joyful that she could join in and experience the beauty of the moving meditation.

We danced the “Prayer of Motivation” which we in Napier call the “Tara Haka.” Some of the men in the group especially connected with this prayer. We followed with the dance of the “Mantra of Tara” and then I introduced the “21 Qualities of Tara.”

The convention was held the week the world was saddened and shocked by the tragic shooting that took place in France. Contrary to the intent of the terrorists, the world came together in a profound and unifying way.

I set the intention that we dance Green Tara’s 21 Qualities for the coming together and unifying of all people, linking our hearts with the heart of every man, woman and child.. The beauty and power of the dance touched us all and it was requested that another session be organized for the following day.

During the dance Tania stood next to me and held my hand.  She reported being just a little dizzy but when I suggested she could sit down she said, “I’m loving this dance and I will manage fine!”

The next day Tania was there waiting to once again participate. This session was just as enriching and well received. There was another woman who had some sort of injury and was hobbling with a walking stick, and she participated both days. Don’t you just love it when this happens?

Murray, from Auckland, one of the leaders of the TS, has offered to help with any logistics for Prema’s Auckland visit in July.  The TS has a quarter yearly magazine TheoSophia  and they are publishing my article, “Alchemy through Trust and theTara Dance” in their March edition. It was truly a refreshing and inspiring experience.

Om Tare!!!
